Collaboration Between PODC and Distributed Computing

As of 2001, there will be a collaboration between PODC and the Springer-Verlag journal Distributed Computing.  Every year, Distributed Computing will publish a special issue featuring the full versions of selected papers that appeared in the previous PODC.  The PODC program committee is responsible for choosing the papers to be invited.  Invited papers will be refereed according to the usual Distributed Computing standards.  Ordinarily this special issue will be edited by the chair of the PODC program committee.  Our goal is to publish each special issue approximately one year after the conference is held.  The collaboration will begin with an issue, edited by Jim Anderson, based on papers that appeared in PODC 2000.
