PODC 2000 will be held at the Portland Marriott City Center on Broadway in downtown Portland, Oregon. The new Portland Marriott City Center on Broadway is located in the heart of the city. The "boutique" style hotel offers an intimate lobby highlighted by a grand staircase, beautiful birds eye maple paneling and a dramatic chandelier. Guests are surrounded by numerous downtown attractions including shopping, museums, nightlife and dining. The Marriott City Center on Broadway offers the Chinook Grill and Lounge, an extensive Fitness Center with oversize Whirlpool, and a Business Center.
Registrants should bear in mind that there are seven different Marriott
properties in Portland. The Portland Marriott City Center on Broadway
is one of the newest, having been open for less than a year. In particular,
do
not confuse the conference hotel with the Portland Marriott
Downtown. This is an older hotel and is about a mile
from the conference hotel.
Hotel rooms all include the Marriott's "Desk that Works". This
includes a desk lamp with electrical and telephone outlets built into the
base, making it easy to set up with a laptop. Rooms do not
include internet connections.
