Information on convention fares can be found at Air Canada Conventions. Discounts apply as per Travel Fare Chart for domestic, transborder and international travel. The Transborder Zone Fare Chart shows discounted fares for travel between U.S.A. and Canada. The zone fares are valid for individual bookings also. If zone fares are not available at the time of booking, then the Travel Fare Chart "Discounts between Canada and U.S.A." are used. The zone fares are valid for individual bookings also. All discounts will include an additional 5% discount for bookings made 30 days in advance. The discounts are applicable on Air Canada/Star Alliance fares also. When booking through a travel agent, please make sure that the convention number CV042455 is entered in the Tour Code Box on each ticket and "Valid Air Canada Only" in the endorsement box.
Early booking is suggested very strongly. There have been times in the recent summers where both getting in and getting out of St. John's were very difficult.
Most importantly, make sure that you are booked to arrive at St. John's International Airport (YYT), Newfoundland and NOT at Saint John, New Brunswick.
Most flights to St. John's are from Halifax, Montreal and Toronto in mainland Canada, and from other cities in Newfoundland and Labrador. The single direct international flight is from/to London (Heathrow) by Air Canada.

Year-round vehicle and passenger ferry service is provided by Marine Atlantic between North Sydney (Nova Scotia) and Port aux Basques (Newfoundland). Crossing time is approximately 6 hours. Port aux Basques is in the western tip of Newfoundland, 900 kms (550 miles) from St. John's, by Trans Canada Highway (TCH). From mid-June to mid-September, an additional ferry operates between North Sydney and Argentia in eastern Newfoundland, 130 kms from St. John's. Crossing time is 12 to 14 hours.
