PODC is a conference that focuses on research in the theory, design, specification or implementation of distributed systems. PODC is sponsored by ACM SIGACT and SIGOPS.

This year's special track is on Algorithms and Data Structures for the Internet.
The Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing will be presented.
PODC 2004 is collocated with the PODC Workshop on Concurrency and Synchronization in Java Programs; joint submission is encouraged.
A selection of the papers is planned to be published by Springer-Verlag's journal Distributed Computing, continuing with a past collaboration.
