CALL FOR APPLICATIONS for STUDENT TRAVEL AWARDS<\/strong><\/p>\n

PODC 2016, along with SIGOPS, SIGACT, ACM, and other PODC sponsors, would like to encourage student participation at the Symposium.<\/p>\n

PODC 2016 will partially reimburse the travel costs and\/or the registration cost of deserving graduate student registrants who might otherwise be unable to attend the conference.<\/p>\n

Eligibility Requirements<\/h2>\n

Students eligible to apply are the following:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Graduate students at the time of registration, or<\/li>\n
  2. Undergraduate students that are (co)-authors of a PODC\u201916 paper.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The number and amount of awards will be determined based on the available budget and the applications received.<\/p>\n

    Application Material<\/h2>\n

    Applications should be sent by e-mail with the subject \u201cPODC 2016 Student Travel Grant Application\u201d to PODC 2016 Communications Co-chair Avery Miller <merelyviral@gmail.com><\/a>. In addition to a student\u2019s application, a short letter of recommendation should be sent by the student\u2019s advisor<\/strong> to the above email address with the subject line \u201cPODC 2016 Student Travel Grant \u2013 Recommendation\u201d (the advisor should clarify the nature and amount of any other sources of funding that are available or have been applied for). Please note that both these emails must be received by the deadline <\/strong>(see below) in order for an application to be considered.<\/p>\n
