Awards

This year, at PODC there will be three awards given:

Best Paper Award: Every regular paper is eligible for the best paper award.

Best Student Paper Award: Regular papers co-authored by full-time students may be eligible for the best student paper award. For a paper to be considered, the nominated authors should be full time students at the time of submission and they should be principally responsible for the paper's contributions.

Best Student Presentation Award: Every regular paper presented by a full-time student is eligible for the best student paper award.

Presentation awards will be selected by the PC members present at the conference, and will be announced on the PODC 2011 web page and the PODC mailing list.

Presentations will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • background and context
  • motivation
  • problem statement
  • clarity of technical content
  • effectiveness and aesthetics of slides
  • choice of material from the paper
  • structure and pace of talk
  • and, above all, how interesting and inspiring the talk was.

We are looking forward to excellent talks!
